TAMARA and KELLI
[ January 11th = Studio One Eleven ]
We are the founders and principal designers behind Studio One Eleven. We met in 2001 as design students at the University of Manitoba when we landed in the same studio group and discovered that we shared the same birthdate of the same year!
Literally separated at birth, a life-long friendship was born.
OUR STORY
Combined, we have more than 3 decades of experience in the field of Professional Interior Design, ranging from small residential projects to multi-million dollar corporate headquarters. We’ve honed our craft in some of Winnipeg’s most innovative studios, mastering the ins and outs of design, construction and project management.
It’s been over 20 years and we still share the same values as that fateful day we met. A love of creative collaboration, a deep respect for great design and a passion for people and how they inhabit space. Our business partnership is built on professional aspirations and a genuine friendship. Brick by brick, we are realizing our dream of building an interior design practice rooted in meaning, purpose, beauty, connection and truth.

TAMARA NYYSOLA

Partner, Interior Designer
With a Bachelor of Environmental Design (2004) and a Master of Interior Design (2012), Tamara began her career with Heather Sarna & Associates in 2006 and went on to bring her interior design expertise to Anthony Allan Office Furnishings and Republic Architecture.
Tamara believes great interiors are livable. They are comfortable, not austere. They are edited, but not cold. They are thoughtfully appointed, but not intimidating.
She is passionate about human-centred design solutions that are rooted in a solid concept. Tamara is a driven professional with a breadth of design experience yet brings a calm, down-to-earth vibe to our studio.
When not designing, Tamara loves to spend time with her partner Luc and her two daughters Ellie and Abigail.

KELLI JOHNSON

Partner, Professional Interior Designer
After graduating with a Bachelor of Environmental Design (2004) and a Master of Interior Design (2012) Kelli went on to work as an interior designer at Synyshyn Architecture + Interior Design and honed her project coordination skills as a project manager at Manitoba Hydro & Bell MTS. In 2015 she obtained her NCIDQ, the National Certification for Interior Design.
Kelli believes great interiors tap into spatial memory and appease the human desire for nostalgia. One of her most treasured design activities is engaging with the young minds of her alma mater when teaching as a sessional instructor in the Department of Interior Design.
Kelli lives in Winnipeg with her partner Dan and their two boys Jasper and Theodore.
